These are some of the things that have helped me with my channel
First : Name your clips to the content
Sounds silly I know, but this was my biggest flaw when I first started my channel. I didn't name the captures when I created the video files. They were just numbered 01235, 01236, 01237 etc. I was wasting time reviewing the clips, saying to myself "which one was that??" It's important to name your clips as you upload them to your PC/laptop. What I use.
Street names of where the capture took place/time and date
Color of the vehicle/make and model
What took place in the capture/ late exit/red light runner/ U turn fail etc.
Second : Create Folders
I have separate folders for the clips and there content. I even have a used folder, and a best of. I wouldn't want to make the mistake of using the same capture in a future video I've already used with the exception of making a worst of.
Third : SPELL CHECK
It's always important to re watch your video before you upload it!!! DON"T BE IN A RUSH!!!! I made the mistake of doing that with one of my videos "An Important Message" Unfortunately there are a few miss spelled words in some of the text. I still kept uploaded though, for me the message in the video was way too important. I'm always getting a rush when I 'm just about to upload a new video to You Tube, but now after I render it I watch it a couple of times before I'm willing to do so. So TAKE YOUR TIME
Fourth : Real time Rendering
Sometimes my play back screen doesn't play the video smoothly with added transitions and clip fade ins. If I'm working on a project and like what I have so far and some clips don't seem to fade in correctly I'll render what I have so far and watch it in real time. Sounds tedious but want my videos to be the best they can be.
Fifth : Experimentation
Now this is something that I'm still working on. If you have seen my videos I tend to have music in them. My channel has been greatly inspired by NoVa dash cam, and Don't Dent My Car. There editing skills are amazing and I wanted to do something similar, because to me there videos were different from everyone else's. Don't Dent My Car's video,..... I believe it's called New York's Got The Moves. Please correct me if I'm wrong DDMC ha ha! That video has some amazing editing skills! If I'm correct it was either a fifteen or ten minute drive. I liked the way he put it together cause he explained everything that was going on. Even reversed the clips! AMAZING! Anyways don't be afraid to experiment. I should take my own advise on this one
Lastly :
Just wanted to give a shout out to you all who have joined I'm honored to be apart of this, and we can make a difference if we stick together
