Hey! I haven't upload for a while because my dashboard camera has finally broken after 2 years of brutal winters and 3 hot summers - Right after my dashcam fell out of my truck as I was in rush and thought I left it inside my home. I wasn't home for all night at that day and it was raining heavy so therefore; it doesn't work anymore, not successful with rice. I still say it's still good dashcam, it's a Blackvue DR400-G HD II but the price was a bit high (Was $275 when I ordered). I have no dashcam for a month and half and it was horrible because I drive about 1,400km (870 miles) per week in my personal and work vehicles. I decided to order one right away for a cheap price from China - GW1 for $45. This is my first post and review here.
And I'm impressed with the quality for that price. Just not with the suction and how they designed the slots... It took me 5 minutes from struggling with getting SD card in and out, it was too way deep and it's bitting my nails - I need to use the pin to push it down and make it stay there. USB slot for lighter and computer is super hard to insert the plug and I was extremely careful to NOT broken it... That's another 10 minutes for me. I was excited enough to put my dashcam on my windshield and see how it does at night time so I can get the idea for daytime (Typing this at 1:30 in the morning). Installing was simple with suction mount but holder mount is super hard to put on because it's all stiff. Makes sense for first time in use - all I need to do is get it out and in for a few times and it "broken off" for regular use. No problem with USB now.
No picture of mount - Just comparing my Blackvue DR400-G HD II and GW1. They're the same size in width (iPhone 4 or 4S to get the idea)
(You could see how my Blackvue worns and there used to be black square around lens)
I like it when you can see what your dashcam sees but not for the Blackvue. GW1 have cool feature where you can zooms in/out on the GW1 even while recording. Negative about the GW1 is no GPS but still great quality for $45 and I do not care about the sound since I'm deaf.
This is very first clip of GW1 from my truck and I uploaded it with only link can be seen because obviously there's license plate #. Around at 0:06 - I turned my high beams on and GW1 adjusted to reduce the noises ASAP.
(Setting I chose - 1080HFD 1920x1080 and created in .mov, NTSC and 60Hz)
(Never mind about these Alberta plate we have now as it will be executed in a few years later to that)
I should get back on the track to upload more videos of bad drivers in Calgary and areas in Alberta, Canada!
PS - I still enjoy to watch your dashcam videos I subscribed whenever I can!
(Sorry for lot of edits, brain dead at 2 in the morning)
