So I'm wondering of you guys ever spotted a car on the road with plates from somewhere outside the continent.
(Like European plates in the US or American plates in Europe for instance).
Because I've spotted some of them in Europe and was wondering if the same ever happened to you guys..
I've visited London (UK) a few years ago and I saw a few cars with Arabic signs on the plates.
In the country where I live (Netherlands) I've never seen a vehicle from outside of Europe, but I've visited a small Eastern European country called Macedonia two times in the past 3 years and I spotted so many different plates there. Cars from all over Europe but even from the US as well. Here are some photos that I made from the American cars in Macedonia:
New York (special interest plate?) and Macedonian plate
New York and Macedonian plate
Wisconsin and Switzerland plate
Speaks for itself..
Look at the top right corner of the plate in this photo. The sticker says 05 which refers to the year 2005? Does that mean this American car is driving with expired tags in Europe?
New Jersey and Switzerland
Indiana..
That was just a fraction of all the photos I have of foreign cars in Macedonia.
For those wondering why there are so many American cars in the country Macedonia.. First I didn't know either, but after asking some local people it appears that these cars belong to Macedonians that are working and/or living overseas and during the summer when they go back home they take their car with them. And the same story goes for all the European cars from different countries that I saw. Macedonia is one of the most poorest countries in Europe so all their people go abroad to other European countries and even the US.
I have basically never seen so many cars from different locations as in Macedonia. Even in the Netherlands where I live I've never seen any American cars (not that I know of), but when I visited their country (Macedonia) it was almost like the world came to one place. I visited the US a couple of times, but only saw American and sometimes Canadian plates on all the cars. So did you guys ever spot a car from outside the continent?
